- OIT encourages all faculty and staff to log into UCLC and take the UC Cyber Security Awareness Training ecourse.
- An improved user interface for Webfiles will be introduced during Winter quarter. Users are invited to log in to the test server, create an account, and test-drive the new version.
- Users of UCI’s O365 email service should be watching their clutter folder, a new feature intended to reduce junk email. If this feature is not helpful, you can turn it off in Outlook or OWA under Settings / Mail / Automatic processing.

In Brief December 2014
- As planned, online legacy financial systems are being retired. Access will no longer be available after December 30, 2014.
- Representatives from Microsoft are scheduled to visit the campus on Wednesday, March 11th and will be conducting a hands-on training lab for Azure, Microsoft’s cloud platform. This event is open to the campus community.
- During the campus holiday closure, December 24 – January 1, the OIT Help Desk (824-2222) will remain available for urgent support issues, but with limited staffing and potentially longer resolution times.
In Brief September 2014
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) is now available to the UCI community via a new UC contract. AWS is a broad set of commercial compute, storage, database, analytics, application, and deployment services. These services are hosted in Amazon’s cloud through a pay-as-you-go pricing model.
- OIT has begun the process of migrating Exchange users to Office 365, which includes a range of services in addition to email and calendar.
- As a reminder, please be familiar with and follow campus recommendations regarding storage of University business documents in the cloud.
